ICS provided consultancy/technical assistance in the development
of NASFAT and Living Faith Foundation (LFF) Policies on HIV/AIDS.
The process involved domesticating the National HIV/AIDS policy,
facilitation of stakeholders’ meetings and sharing of research
findings and writing up the policy documents (2007/2008)

(AAN)

ICS coordinated the conduct, analysis
and writing of the national research findings on Women’s Rights
and Universal Access to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care
and support. As well the staff provided technical support
in the conduct of the research in Northwest and Northeast
regions. Participatory tools such as Focus Group Discussions,
timeline as well as in – depth Interviews Semi – structured
Questionnaires were designed and used for the research.

ICS facilitated the assessment of a
Model of Civil Society in delivery of HIV & AIDS national
response in Nigeria across the six (6) geo – political
zones. Assessment instruments were designed and used including
key informant interview (KII) and attitude and perception
scale matrix. The scope of the work also involved analytical
reporting and development/documentation of case studies and
best practices.ICS facilitated participatory impact
assessment of PAP projects in FCT and Gombe. The activity
involved review of all relevant monitoring and evaluation
reports, review of Partnership Against Poverty (PAP) goals,
log frame and baseline reports, visitations to sampled communities
and interview of relevant stakeholders were done. Also, the
design and application of relevant participatory tools (attitude
and perception scale matrix & Impact assessment matrix)
as well as the documentation of success stories and writing
of analytical report was also done to make the assessment
holistic.
• Log frame construction
for AAN Partnership Against Poverty (PAP) Program covering
12 states; Activities included review of existing AAN frameworks
and PAP documentations and a stakeholder workshop involving
developing a shared understanding of the log frame concepts
and construction of the log frame using a participatory approach.
ACCESS-JHPIEGO

Team building and institutional support was
provided to ACCESS
– JHPIEGO (an affiliate of John
Hopkins University, USA).
The assignment involved the design of framework for the team
building and bonding workshop. This also include developing
learning objectives and 3 day schedule as well as the facilitation
of interactive workshop combining illustrative lectures with
interactive exercise such as heart surgery exercise, who will
cross the line etc. In addition, ICS staff facilitated discussion
to generate personal and organizational commitments to the
success of the ACCESS program in Nigeria.

and facilitating access to clinical and community, maternal,
neonatal and women health services

ICS provided training on systematic monitoring and evaluation
for World Bank Assisted Community Based Urban Development
Project (CBUDP) states: Bauchi, Jigawa & Nasarawa. ICS
designed and facilitated the training covering areas such
as project management cycle, M&E Cycle, Basic M&E
Question, M&E: Basic Concept, application of basic M&E
concepts, M&E Framework, M&E Tools, principles in
designing M&E tools & practical applications, output
tracking table, and analysis & reporting.
EU – PRIME

Lead Consultant; provided a lead in the design and delivery
of a team building and organizational development workshop
for EU PRIME Staff from the 6 states and Central office Abuja. The process of
team building involved the use of participatory methods, tools
and exercises to facilitate an understanding of a team, its
dynamics, conflicts management and decisions making. These
participatory tools and exercises were case studies, storytelling,
problem solving games and puzzles.
Group work/task, plenary sessions and gallery walk
sessions carried out also were intended to enhance learning
and increase bonding while paying attention to the sensitivity
of the chosen tasks and exercises.

Participatory Organizational Self Assessment and Development
(POSAD) of Civil Society Organizations: Activities included
determining organizational model to use, designing assessment
framework and tools, application of the assessment tools such
as viability assessment matrix, relationship assessment matrix,
activity performance assessment, analysis of the organizational
and information flow analysis. Other activities are synthesis
and prioritization of critical issues, identifying and prioritizing
capacity areas, baseline assessment of priority capacity areas,
visioning (developing capacity indicators) , formulating support
activities and facilitating pyramid of action (assigning roles).
Finally, writing analytical report to suite donor requirements.

provided PRA training of State Economic Planning Officers
and community leaders from 9 States (Kogi, Katsina, Kaduna,
Kwara, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Niger). The training included designing
of PRA tools for situation analysis as well as community action
planning. UNICEF assisted project (April, 2004)

assisted by African Development Initiatives (June 13 – July

• A consultant; led the participatory mid term evaluation
of 4 African Development Foundation assisted micro finance
institutes (FADU, COWAN Jos, RAHAMA Bauchi and WDI Kano) with
technical partners as DDI. The evaluation included analysis
of loan portfolio quality, efficiency of credit administration,
and assessment of quality of life of beneficiaries amongst
